Pirates, Parties & Pools

On Saturday, Juli was down the campground with Nonna & Pop. They had a "Dress like a Pirate Party." Juli got all decked out and went to scavage some loot.

She didn't win best costume, but she had a great time. I definitely think she could have won, but maybe I'm a little biased, lol.

This is a picture of Juli and Sal. She told my mom and dad that she had to go play with her boyfriend. We think it's a little early for her to have a boyfriend. When James gets home she'll probably be grounded.


On Sunday we went to Brigette's baby shower. Juli stayed with Pop at Mom-Mom's house. She had tons of fun swimming and playing with everyone, including the dog and the cat!

Alligators

Juli and I went to Target the other night and she wanted to go on the alligator. What??? Alligators at Target?!? Relax, she means elevator.

For some reason she always calls it an alligator. We have corrected her many many times and she CAN say elevator. She just calls it an alligator. She also calls the escalator the same thing, but she really likes to get on the escalator. She's a little nervous about elevators. We usually don't go on the escalator, since we usually have Olivia and it's a pain to take her seat on and off the cart, so we just take the elevator. I tell her when we come without Olivia, she can go on the escalator. So the other night Juli and I were alone, as soon as she saw the escalator she said, "Mommy, I ride the alligator?". Sure kid, knock yourself out.

The World According to Juli

Juli recently figured out how to work the camera. We didn't specifically show her, I guess she learned from watching us. She doesn't know how to open the flash though, so we do have to do it for her. Here are some pictures she took today...

I showed her the pictures after I uploaded them. She saw this one and started singing, "Knees & Toes, Knees & Toes" from Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes.


This is our vacuum. She told me it was pretty.


This is the fan. She is obsessed with it. I have to watch her like a hawk around it. Especially since she tries to turn it on/off all the time.

All in all I think she did pretty well. Most of them were in focus and had all of the thing she was trying to take the picture of actually in the picture.

Wordless Wednesday 7.18.07

Juli-isms

Juli has some kind of strange accent/language going on. Who knows where it came from. She says some things that I think are pretty funny/cute. I know I won't remember them later on in life, so I think its time to start jotting them down somewhere. Here we go...

Open. Easy enough to say, right? Juli says Eww-pen. "Eww-pen it for me peas." She has always said it that way and I don't think its going to change anytime soon.

Milk. In Juli-ese this becomes Nuk. She can say it right. She has said it right. She simply refuses. I think she just likes calling it Nuk. Yesterday we passed a piano store. She told me she wanted to go in and see the pianos. I thought to myself, wow, maybe she'll want to play; we can get her lessons. She can be a world class pianist. She then told me she wanted to go in and bang on them all with her Nuk cup. Ok, maybe she'll be part of a demolition crew instead. lol.

Dressed. We get dressed. Juli gets bressed. This one is funny, but has the potential to be highly embarrassing should she want to get bressed while we are out in public. She calls all shirts and dresses her bress. Not too bad, unless you over hear her talking about it in say, Target or something. Like the time she told me her bress was too small and she needed a new one. She saw a shirt she liked and decided the one she had on was too small, but of course she doesn't say shirt. She basically said, "Mommy, my bress is too small. I need new one." Luckily, I don't think there were a lot of people around to hear her having a fit about her too-small bress.

Back to work

I thought I would let everyone know that I am back to work now. That's why you are seeing a decline in the number of posts. Hopefully I can get some new pictures up soon.

The girls are home with Daddy and all are surviving. LOL Actually he is doing great with them. He has so much patience with them. Juli is such a Daddy's girl, as long as she is near him, she's doing great! Olivia has spent the last 3 months basically alone with me, so she's getting used to someone else taking care of her. She's doing well though. She always has a huge smile for Daddy, so I think they'll be ok.

July 4, 2007

We went to pick Juli up, she spent the week with Nonna and Pop. She wanted to show us how she picks blueberries.






She's supposed to put them in this bucket after she picks them. I should have taken a picture of the inside of the bucket. At any given time there was only about 2 blueberries in the bucket. The rest went directly into her belly.




She also wanted to show us how she throws pebbles into the lake.


Olivia spent most of the day sleeping. She woke up to show us how she didn't like being under awnings or screen houses. We had to walk around with her facing out so she could see the great outdoors.
