Aloha, Happy Birthday Mom-Mom!

We had a luau in honor of Mom-Mom's 75th birthday party. The girls loved it. They were excited to get their hula gear on. Livi's excitement only lasted so long though. I had to bribe her to keep it on for these pictures. She obviously wasn't too happy about it.

The girls, Mom-Mom and me.

Mom-Mom and her great-grandchildren.

Sara, Mom-Mom and Karen.

Me and my little sis, yeah I was slouching. I'm still taller. ;-)

The cake, by The Cake Boss, uh I mean Donna. ;-)

Sara and Mary.

Party people.

More party people.

Make a wish, Mom-Mom!
Yeah, he's silly like that.

Hanging Out with the Little Guy

Denise's cousin Jen got married tonight and Katie was the flower girl. Ryan got to hang out with us for the night. The girls loved fussing over him. We even got lucky and Kyra (Karen and Chris' baby) stopped by for a little visit on her way to her babysitter's house.

Juli was excited to finally meet her and hold her.

She also wanted to hold Ryan, of course.

What a cutie pie!

He was all about the toes!

Livi was there too, but she has a new thing where she runs when she sees I have my camera. Which is pretty much all the time. LOL

Swim Time!

We went to Mom Mom's house and the girls were super excited to go in the pool. Well, Juli was. Livi eventually warmed up to it. They had a blast and can't wait to go back! Juli is becoming quite the waterbug. She wears her lifejacket and zips around the pool. I better find her some swim lessons stat.

Here is Juli by some of Mom Mom's gorgeous gardens.

In the pool. Thanks to Matt for taking all the pool pictures for us.

Looks like Sara was hitching a ride on the Juli train.

Sun bathing beauties.

Livi decided to go for one last dip. The footbath was more her speed.

Nickelback Concert

James and I went to the Nickelback concert on Saturday. Karen and Frankie went too, but they were with their friends and were sitting in another section.

Amazing show. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time. They put on a great show, lots of fun, cool pyrotechnics.

Austin Winkler (Hinder), Chad Kroeger (Nickelback) and Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach) singing ACDC's Highway to Hell. They said it was the first time the three of them have done that, for all those that were going to post it on youtube. I should have videoed instead. LOL

At the Playground

Before heading home, we went to one of the playgrounds in the community to burn off some energy. We were hoping they fell asleep in the car and we got a nice quiet ride. I don't think Juli ever fell asleep, but she watched her movie quietly, so it wasn't bad.

Carnival Loot

Juli wanted me to take a picture of all the prizes they won at the carnival (Billy not included). We are missing a few things - a ball, an inflatable guitar and an inflatable princess wand. I took a few pictures in a row, and that was Livi's best "cheese" face.

Independence Day At the Lake

It was still a little chilly on the 4th, but the girls wanted to go to the beach so we headed on over to the lake. Juli jumped in whole-heartedly. She then stood on the beach freezer for a few minutes and jumped back in. Livi hesitated to go on the water. It was a little too cold for her, not that I blame her, I didn't want to go in either. She was content to sit on the beach and play in the sand, provided I wiped the sand off of her hands every few minutes so they weren't "dirty".

After the beach, we decided to go over to the heated pool. The pool was nice, but once we got out of the water, it was freezing! We headed home later in the afternoon and I hung our suits out on the deck to dry. I went back out to check on them and found this butterfly sitting on mine. Of course I had to grab the camera.

Carnival at the Mountains

Mom-Mom and Aunt Kathy graciously let us use their mountain house for the weekend. We packed the car and headed up on Friday morning. It was pretty chilly on Friday and rained off and on most of the day. We hung out and looked for deer. We saw a few wander down the road.

The rain and the skies cleared just in time for the carnival and fireworks. Juli had a blast on the rides. Livi was not interested. That kid is afraid of everything. They played some games, won some prizes including a GIANT snake that Juli picked when James won the ring toss game. We tried to talk her into the cute monkeys or dolphins, but it was a no go. Livi was afraid when the fireworks first started, but she quickly warmed up to them. We had a great time!
