Breakfast Beauties

Just a typical breakfast at our house...

Just kidding. I let the girls put their table in the family room for breakfast and they seemed to enjoy it. They ate better then normal, without all of the fussing. The robes and sunhats were their own fashion choices.

And so it begins...

Tonight we were in the bathroom brushing our teeth before bed when Juli said, "Mommy, my shoes are not Skechers."

I said, "What??"

She said, "I SAID, my shoes are not skechers."

me - "I know." "Who told you that?"

Juli - "Hannah did."

me - "Does Hannah have skechers?"

Juli - "Yes." pause "Skechers are super fast. They are the fastest shoes and I don't have them."

Me - "Your shoes are superfast too. You told me they were superfast when we bought them."

Juli - "But Mommy, they aren't Skechers."

Me - "They're Nikes and Nikes are better than Skechers."

Ok so I didn't really say that last part. I wanted to. Does that make me bad? LOL I did say, "They're Nikes and they are super fast too. Skechers is just the name of Hannah's shoes, Nike is the name of your shoes. It doesn't really matter what kind of shoes they are."

In case you were wondering, Juli's response was - "Oh. Can I have my teeth medicine* now?"

LOL

*Teeth medicine = chewable flouride tablets (our water doesn't have flouride in it)

Shhhh Surprise Party!

After school we had a mini surprise birthday party for Juli since we were in Florida for her birthday. I think she was more surprised to see Nonna and Pop on the porch when she got home from school than anything. Aunt Jen, Uncle Frankie, Aunt Karen, Mom Mom, Grandma, Cici, Katie, and Uncle Joe came too.

She told me later that Nonna did a good job planning her surprise and bringing it all with her. Apparently I get all the work and none of the credit. LOL

These are the favors for the girls. They got glow sticks, glow stick bracelets, tattoos and Hannah Montana headsets with a fake little boom microphone. They thought they were hot stuff!

Pumpkin Time

On Sunday we went to Merrymead Farm for their Fall Harvest Festival. It was pretty hot, so it made doing all these fun fall activities strange!

Juli got a kick out of these "photo opportunities".

We went through a mini corn maze. The girls loved it. It was very low and catered to small children. I thought I might not be able to stand up straight again when we got out!

Juli was really excited by this cow tractor. It was in the barn and we couldn't go in, but she really wanted to check it out.

Livi is the orange flower and Juli is in the yellow one to the right.

Grandma, Livi and Daddy checking things out. I think they were heading toward the peacocks. Check out the caterpillar thing in the top right corner. It was pretty big and made out of pumpkins.

Juli used her tickets to get prizes.

After doing some inflatable bouncy things we headed back toward the maze and the tractor train rides. Juli earned the title of Chief Corn Inspector here.

Waiting for the tractor train to start.

Choo Choo! Is this not the cutest thing?

While Livi and I were waiting for James to get Juli settled on her train ride, we bumped into my friend Kim!! You can see a few pictures on her blog. Kim's daughter Lilly is the same age as Livi.

After that, we headed over to pick up our pumpkins.

Please?

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo!

After we got home that night, James and Juli carved a pumpkin. They named him, Wilson. Poor Wilson has since had his head and part of his face eaten by squirrels.

We decided to take a boat out for the a little while. Juli thought it would be a lot of fun. It's a nice little ride through the Disney waterways. You have to be careful of the beginner boat drivers and the little Mickey Mouse one person boats. They are fun to see though and everyone waves to you as they pass. Here are some pictures of our outing:

Juli couldn't wait to get behind the wheel. She really wanted to drive! She did pretty good and kept an eye out for pirates and Lego dragons. Once Livi was allowed to "drive" she was not willing to give up that spot!

Legos!

We went back to Downtown Disney to hang out. Juli really wanted to see the Lego store. She kept calling it Lego-land. I made the mistake of telling her it was just a store, Legoland is in California. After that she kept asking me when we could go to California to see Legoland.

Checking out the building stations and the kids racing their creations.

Hmmm, what should I make?

Waiting for Daddy to send his car down the track.

Juli probably made the simplest little car there.

Yeah, the saying on the block, definitely matches her mood.

Hey I see toys up there!

A Morning Stroll

James' back was hurting him so he didn't get to golf with Joseph and Dave. When they called that they were on the hole behind our building we went out to see them though. The girls went out to look for them. Juli wanted to go out and collect golf balls from the beach. Apparently she remembers James taking her to the sand trap last year and picking up some practice balls.

After Uncle Joe and Poppy left, James and the girls took a little stroll on the cart path.

Sea World 10-9-08

We decided to go over to Sea World today. We have season passes to Sesame Place that include free admission to Sea World - so we took our time getting there and didn't feel the need to stay all day. It was HOT!

Livi fell asleep in the car on the way over and stayed asleep as I transferred her to the coach and we headed into the park. We made our way right to the Shamu show first. Livi woke up JUST in time for it!

Juli was getting antsy waiting for it to start. Good thing we got there when we did though, the entire stadium was full! Luckily since Livi was sleeping we got to sit in the sleeping baby section and didn't have to make our way to random seats. You know it's hot when Juli is all flushed and sweaty!

Juli got up for a better view of the show. She loved it. Eventually another little girl came and stood next to her. They clapped and danced along with the trainers.

We got to see a few of the Budweiser Clydesdales. It was really hot and stinky in there! Juli was brave enough to pet Classic.

We spent a little more time in the park, seeing the obligatory penguins, manatees and dolphins. Juli wanted to go on Atlantis and cried when we wouldn't let her. I don't know if she is big enough, I doubt it, but I really didn't feel like walking around in wet shorts and squishy sneaks all day.

The Tall Balloon Guys

Another restaurant we went to this week had a balloon guy and Juli was very concerned because "Balloon guys are supposed to be very very tall." Apparently she remembered our trip to Margaritaville last year where the balloonmakers walk on stilts.

She was excited to see them hanging out outside when we got to Margaritaville. She was also excited to hear "Fins" while we were eating dinner. She calls it "that Fins song" and she knows all the moves.

We had to bail out as soon as dinner was done though because Livi got a fever and started getting tired and cranky.

The Sleepy Swimmer

106/365: The Sleepy Swimmer, originally uploaded by sanboogie.

I know this isn't the best picture, but it is so darn funny. We went to the pool this morning and Livi fell asleep in my arms IN THE POOL! This kid can really literally sleep anywhere! I laid her on the towel to take her picture, then I transferred her to the shade of her stroller, while everyone else finished swimming. We left the pool not long after this because it was just too hot if you weren't in the water!

Juli's Magical Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Juli's 4th birthday and Maddie's 10th birthday at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World. The girls had a blast, as did everyone else!

"WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!"

"Today's my birthday!"

We got to the Magic Kingdom in time for the park opening. We saw the little opening ceremony at the front gates. Once inside we ran up and hopped right on the Train to get around to Toon Town, so we wouldn't have to wait forever in the line to meet the princesses. Last year by the time we got there the wait was 2.5 hours! We tried to get there first thing in the morning. When we got there we were a little bit early. Toon Town wasn't even open yet! Luckily we still had access to the little playground and the girls played there for a while.

It was finally time to open Toon Town. As we waited at the rope, we saw Mickey and Minnie come out on the porch of Mickey's house. One of Mickey's "friends" came over and asked Juli if she would like to go up and visit with Mickey and Minnie. Of course she said YES!! He asked me if our family would like to join her. I said, "Sure, but there are A LOT of us!" They didn't seem to mind. Juli went up and was whisked away by Mickey and Minnie on a tour of his house and garden. We were the only ones allowed in until they were finished. It was pretty cool! Livi and Katie hung back a little bit. They weren't so sure of Mickey and Minnie at first.

Livi still isn't so sure. She never really warmed up to them. She didn't cry though, just pinched James to death! LOL

Katie came around and sat with Minnie. Yay, Katie! Not all Big Heads are scary!

After that we went over to get in line with the Princesses, we didn't have to wait long at all! The girls LOVED the princesses of course. Livi really liked Belle, which suprised me.

After that we decided to hit some rides. I didn't take many pictures on the rides. Here is one I took of Livi on Pooh's Grand Adventure, she loved it!

We made it around to Frontierland just in time to catch a parade. Juli loved the parade. She was waving to everyone in it!

Livi only waved to princesses and only from a distance in the safety of Daddy's arms.

At the end of the day, Juli told me, "Mommy - that was the best birthday EVER!!"

My princesses.
