The Good Old Days

Tonight Denise and I went out to dinner, just the two of us, no kids, no husbands. Just like the good old days. We headed out to Chevy's Mexican restaurant near Trenton. Our night did not start out so good. We hit a ton of traffic on Route 1, which ended up being closed. We had to take a detour and EVERY way we turned it was super crowded. We spent a lot of time in the car trying to get there, but we made the best of it. Laughing and talking without kids screaming in the car helps. A lot.

Mmmm flautas!
El Machino! They have a machine there that makes fresh tortilla shells. They are pretty yummy!

Hopefully it won't be years before we get to do it again!

Quality Me Time

Since I was home alone this weekend, I took some time to go out and take pictures. It was peaceful and relaxing to be able to take pictures without worrying about where the kids were and what they were getting into! Here are some of the photos I took:

Chickendale?

This morning as we were eating breakfast Juli asked me if we could go see her friend. I asked her which friend, to which she replied, "Chickendale."

I thought for a minute, but could not figure out who she was talking about. I asked her where Chickendale is. She said on the ride. Mmm hmm, okay. I thought maybe it was something she saw at school or on TV.

I told her I didn't know who Chickendale is. She said to me, "Mommy. When we went to Disney, remember? And we went on the ride and the two guys were there. That's my friend Chickendale."

Here's Juli and Chickendale.

Happy Birthday Katie... Part Deux

Tonight we went to Katie's house since it was her "real" birthday to have dinner and sing "Happy Birthday"

Mmm cheesecake!

Cheese(cake)!

Not sure if Katie was making a silly face or if she was just trying to lick the cheesecake off of her lips! LOL

More cheese from Maddie.

Grandma helped Livi with hers.

A Day at the Zoo

We went to the Zoo with Aunt Connie and Matt. The girls love the zoo and we don't go nearly enough. Hopefully as the fall brings cooler weather we will go more!

Aunt Connie and Juli scoping out some animals.

Juli was fascinated in the Reptile House.

Take me that way!

Juli wanted to take her picture here, so she could "look like a statue."

Hanging out by the Giant Tortoise pond.

We will miss these guys (girls??) when they are gone.

Livi and Juli, ha ha!

Matt, Juli and Livi taking a break in the shade.

I must be rubbing off on Juli, she told me this would be a great spot for a picture. LOL

In the children's zoo they have exercise pens where they bring certain animals out and teach the kids about them.

Juli was learning about hedgehogs. Her name was Sonic. No, I am not kidding.

Silly rabbit!

Feeding the ducks.

A girl and her goat.

Look at me, I'm riding a pony!!

Poor Livi fell asleep right after lunch and missed all the fun stuff.

I don't know what she was looking at, but her face cracked me up!

Matt is my witness, this pose was totally unprovoked. Aww, sisters.

Happy Birthday Katie!!

Yesterday we went to Katie's 3rd birthday party. We had a great time! Juli is looking forward to trying out all of Katie's new toys! LOL

The kids had a great time in the pool!

Livi had a good time too. That's her "cheese" face. LOL

There's Katie's cheese face - and Uncle Joe's too in the background!

Livi wearing "gobbles".

Yummy cake!

Oh, just wait 10 years...

Katie, Juli and Kelly

WAIT A MINUTE! Who's that I see??

OH NO! It can't be!!

It's DORA!!! (And Maddie)

Most of the kids were afraid of the "life-size" Dora, Katie & Livi included. Juli seemed to like her and was excited to get her picture taken with Dora. Since the kids were afraid, Dora was beheaded and Karen was exposed until after cake.

Juli and Dora.

Livi would rather just stick to a Dora hat.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE!!"

Ok so Livi didn't really say that, but it's what she meant! LOL

Happy Birthday Aunt Karen!

We went to Aunt Jenn & Uncle Frankie's apartment for Aunt Karen's birthday dinner. Being the cool uncle that he is, Uncle Frankie let the girls play Rock Band with him on the xbox.

Juli want to be a drummer like Uncle Frankie.
Aww Pop Pop and Livi.

Livi on drums, Juli on guitar.

The band.

Livi on drums, Juli on vocals.

Rock on, Rockstar!

We love our Aunt Karen!

UH, Who forgot the candles????

Happy Birthday Karen!
