Sick again

Sickness has invaded our house once again. James and the girls are pretty sick.

It started with Juli starting a fever on Friday night, which went away until Sunday night. Actually they both had runny noses for about a week. On Monday Juli's fever was back and she was just laying on the couch all day. So we went to the doctor.
Here's the verdict:

Livi - fluid in ears (off and on, mostly on since October) recommended going to ENT.

Juli - Right ear infection, Strep Throat, Cold. Juli also has large tonsils. I've commented before that she snores and the way she snores makes me nervous. The doctor recommended taking her to the ENT as well.

James went to the doctor later that day and he has Strep too. I'm praying I don't catch any of it!! I think I got lucky with the antibiotics I was taking from my wisdom teeth removal! I really hope I didn't jinx myself with that!

Today, Juli seems to be doing much better. She's eating and playing normally. She's still a bit on the grumpy side, but pretty normal. She's still coughing every now and then, with a few major hack attacks in the middle of the night.

Livi started with fevers last night. Before bed her temperature was 101. I gave her Tylenol and put her to bed around 9pm. She fought sleep and couldn't get comfortable. She woke me up crying a few times, but every time I went in she was still asleep, just whining. Poor thing.

She was up to 102 degrees this morning at 10:30am.I called the pediatrician's office and they want me to bring her back in to see if the fluid in her ears has become infected. So we will go there tonight when I get home from work.

Lots of New Posts

Be sure to hit older posts when you get to the bottom of the page since some of the newer posts went past the first page.

Yes, Deer

At Mom Mom's mountain house, the deer come right up to the house and come quite a few times a day... Breakfast, lunch and dinner to be exact. As you can see, they come about 5 feet away from the back door.

Juli looking at the deer. The deer looking at Juli.

The rest are all deer pictures, no explanation necessary. LOL

Hanging Out at the Mountains

Random pictures in no particular order:

Juli & James checking out the snow.

Livi wondering why we keep sticking her in this cold white stuff.

Mom Mom took us to breakfast at the clubhouse. Livi seemed to like it!

Juli eating breakfast at the clubhouse. She ate about 1/10 of what you see in front of her, mostly fruit.

Juli and James working on their laptops.

Juli and Mom Mom.

Serious reading.

Can we go sledding now?

Nonna and the girls.

Pop and Livi

Mountain Views

A pretty winter water scene from inside the community.

The lake was frozen and there were people ice fishing on it.

Another view of the frosty lake.

Mountains - Sledding 1.20.08

Here's some pictures of the girls sledding up the mountains:

Juli had to earn her ride by pulling Livi.

James too

Are we moving yet?

They are having so much fun! Can't you tell??

Wheeeeee! (LOL)

Going for a ride.

Time to go home.

Moutain Recovery

On Thursday I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. It was not fun. We decided to spend the weekend up the mountains with my family like we do every Martin Luther King weekend. I figured it was a good a place as any to recover and there were plenty of people to help James with the kids. Thank God for that, since I was pretty much out of commission until today!

I'll put pictures from the mountains into different posts.

Snow Day 1.17.08

Last week we got just enough snow for the girls to go out and have some fun. Good thing we did, since it was gone by morning!

Livi's first snow! I think she likes it!
Juli making snow angels and catching snowflakes in her mouth.

Shake Shake Shake

This morning I was doing Richard Simmons' Disco Sweat. I left everything in the DVD Player and just shut the TV off. Juli knows how to turn the TV on, so this is what I came back to... LOL

Kid Conversations

Yesterday I picked Juli and Katie up from school. Their conversation went like this:

Katie - Juli, member when we went to Best Buy?

...

Me - Juli, do you remember when you went for a ride with Katie, Cici & Uncle Joe to Best Buy on New Years Eve?

Katie - Juli, member when we went to Best Buy?

Juli- yeah, and I ate chicken nuggets.

Katie - Yeah, it was a great time! {LOL}

Juli - The chicken nuggets are too hot. They burn my tongue.

Katie - Yeah...

Katie - James wasn't there.

Feeding Time

I was getting lunch ready when Juli started the following conversation:

Juli - Mommy, can we go to the zoo again so I can feed the sheep?

Sandy - Sure, we can go to the zoo again. Maybe when the weather gets a little warmer.

Juli - We can? OK!

...

Juli - Mommy, can we go back to Disney so I can feed the princesses?

Sandy - So you can feed the princesses???

Juli - um no, see them.

Sandy - Oh... yeah but not for a while.

Juli - Ok, I want to go to Bunnytown too.

Sandy - Ok, then.

{Bunnytown is a show on Disney}

Livi's 9 Month Doctor Appointment

Olivia had her 9 month doctor visit last night. She is doing great. She's 24lbs, 12 oz and 28 1/2 inches long. She had to get her second flu shot last night. For some reason children under 10 have to get 2 the first time they receive it. I don't think we did that with Juli, maybe it's new. Who knows, they change everything so often it makes your head spin trying to keep up!

So Livi is on to the transition to table foods now. She'll still do formula until she's 1, but she'll do more table foods and less baby foods for now. I'm sure she was happy to hear that! She'd take things she can feed herself over baby food and a bottle anyday!

She finished her antibiotic on Saturday, and the doctor said she wouldn't be completely clear yet. She checked and she is still "pink", but not red and bulging. Since it wasn't red, they aren't doing another treatment. Hopefully they will continue to improve and we won't have to do antibiotics again! We go back in a few weeks for a follow up.

I'm not sure if she is saying uh-oh, or just trying to warm her hands! LOL

Aunt Kathy getting warm by the fire.

Say "Cheese" Mom Mom!

Mmm Yogurt

Livi has been eating yogurt lately per the pediatrician's orders since she is taking an antibiotic for her ear infection. She LOVES it!

Mmm mmm, finger lickin' good!

Christmas From Juli's Camera

As promised, here are some more Christmas pictures. These are from Juli's camera. The first few were obviously not taken by Juli, LOL.

Katie & Juli having an m&m party.
Juli & Katie opening presents.

Katie & Juli reading Katie's card.

The rest of these were taken by Juli.

At first, I was wondering who the heck this was... until I realize Juli must have taken a picture of a box from one of the presents! LOL

Katie - the profile shot.

For some reason she wanted to take a picture of Katie's present.

Say "Cheese" Katie!

Here's Livi.

Livi and the gang. Funny to see it from Juli's perspective.

That is all.
