Mountains - Sledding

There was still some snow on the ground up the mountains so we decided to take advantage of it and do some sledding. The road (don't worry, it's not used very often since we are on a dead end) has a nice slight hill that was perfect for the kids. Nonna went to the bottom to "catch" the kids and keep an eye out for cars. Juli attempted snowboarding. Or snow scooting? It was a snowboard thing with a handle, that kind of looked like a scooter without wheels.

The girls all had a great time and couldn't wait to do it again. And again. And again. :-)

MLK Moutain Weekend

We headed up the mountains for the weekend with the family. I'll put a few different posts up with the pictures. Looks like this one of Jenn, Livi and Sara is the only one I took on Friday night.

At the Playground

Before heading home, we went to one of the playgrounds in the community to burn off some energy. We were hoping they fell asleep in the car and we got a nice quiet ride. I don't think Juli ever fell asleep, but she watched her movie quietly, so it wasn't bad.

Carnival Loot

Juli wanted me to take a picture of all the prizes they won at the carnival (Billy not included). We are missing a few things - a ball, an inflatable guitar and an inflatable princess wand. I took a few pictures in a row, and that was Livi's best "cheese" face.

Independence Day At the Lake

It was still a little chilly on the 4th, but the girls wanted to go to the beach so we headed on over to the lake. Juli jumped in whole-heartedly. She then stood on the beach freezer for a few minutes and jumped back in. Livi hesitated to go on the water. It was a little too cold for her, not that I blame her, I didn't want to go in either. She was content to sit on the beach and play in the sand, provided I wiped the sand off of her hands every few minutes so they weren't "dirty".

After the beach, we decided to go over to the heated pool. The pool was nice, but once we got out of the water, it was freezing! We headed home later in the afternoon and I hung our suits out on the deck to dry. I went back out to check on them and found this butterfly sitting on mine. Of course I had to grab the camera.

Carnival at the Mountains

Mom-Mom and Aunt Kathy graciously let us use their mountain house for the weekend. We packed the car and headed up on Friday morning. It was pretty chilly on Friday and rained off and on most of the day. We hung out and looked for deer. We saw a few wander down the road.

The rain and the skies cleared just in time for the carnival and fireworks. Juli had a blast on the rides. Livi was not interested. That kid is afraid of everything. They played some games, won some prizes including a GIANT snake that Juli picked when James won the ring toss game. We tried to talk her into the cute monkeys or dolphins, but it was a no go. Livi was afraid when the fireworks first started, but she quickly warmed up to them. We had a great time!

Over the River and Through the Woods

To Grandmother's house we go...

This weekend the girls went up the mountains with Nonna, Pop, Mom Mom and Aunt Karen. Looks like they had a great time! Juli couldn't stop talking about the waterfalls, the cave and the train ride!

Yes, Deer

At Mom Mom's mountain house, the deer come right up to the house and come quite a few times a day... Breakfast, lunch and dinner to be exact. As you can see, they come about 5 feet away from the back door.

Juli looking at the deer. The deer looking at Juli.

The rest are all deer pictures, no explanation necessary. LOL
